dragonfly quilt

This collage is one of the bedrooms that I have had the pleasure of creating with client, for her very special daughters bedroom.
Details: I made the drapes, my client and her daughter handpainted the butterfly drape holders.
The crown was made from baskets/faux finish and painted flowers by Danny Nichols, my partner and husband.
The bed/drapes : sheers and antique silk trim were hand dyed to match fabric in the center of the quilted/bedspread.
The quilted bedspread: Dragonflies were handpainted to match the dragonflies in printed fabric used for the surround of the quilt, machine embroidered added to the painted dragonflies and appliqued to the center .Stippling then was added . Other coordinating fabrics were added to finish the bedspread sides , top and bottom. To finish the quilt a 3.5" ruffle of the drape fabric was added to sides and bottom. Under bed side rails a fully ruffled bed skirt completed this soft glowing pink bedroom . This bedroom was so well recieved by the princess who lives here, she did not want to leave her room that was made for this princess. Posted by Picasa
